The Motivator is a disabled military veteran, former Wall Street Investor, is CEO and founder of The Motivator (formerly Keeping It Real Inc.), a full-time motivational, inspirational, educational, humorist, empowerment and leadership agency for PTSD Veterans, adults, young adults, troubled youth, gang members, military members, high school and college students, law enforcement personnel, inmates, and business professionals. He hails from Columbia, South Carolina and is the youngest of nine children raised as an inner-city youth in the Saxon Homes Projects. He is now a uniquely articulate and highly respected citizen and role model recognized by the National Urban League, NAACP, and The Boys and Girls Clubs of America./

Garrick tours throughout the country and overseas, entertaining, motivating, inspiring, and educating youth and adults. He has served as a motivational speaker for marketing professionals, the homeless throughout the United States, “A Better Way” Gang-Out Program, Department of Juvenile Justice Staff as a mentor to students in South Carolina, and Armed Forces Entertainment annually where he most recently performed for United States troops serving in Italy, Greece, and Jordan. Garrick conducts quarterly motivational and leadership seminars for civilians, law enforcement members, teachers, disabled veterans, and active duty 
personnel and their families annually around the world.  Garrick actively participated on the research committee for the Second Chance Youth Offender Charter Schools Program and the Columbia Police Foundation Board of Directors. As a donor to the Palmetto Health Foundation’s Capital Campaign, he helped construct the first freestanding hospital for children, Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, in South Carolina. He is the author of several published articles: “Keeping It Real - Knowledge is Power,” “From Harden Street to Wall Street,” “Dream Big, But Focus Small,” and “Anything Is Possible” and is the author of a children’s book, Reach for the Moon.
